This week it became official in New Zealand: being skinny is
not considered normal.
Fat-rights campaigners have managed to pull from the shop
fronts of one of N.Z’s largest fashion retailers mannequins it considers ‘too
skinny’.
For the record my daughter is the same size as one of the ‘offending’
mannequins.
She is blessed with good genes – mine- plus exercises about
10 hours a week.
Now let’s turn this travesty of political correctness around
to the point the faux logic eats itself.
The whimpish Hallenstein Glassons decided to put out obese
mannequins in their place, fat being the new normal.
Would they bow down to pressure from a petition from skinny
girls “these body images are unachievable”?
No fucking way.
The skinny girl who watches what she eats, gets out and
exercises is considered to be abnormal in this country.
Doing rowing and triathlon, eating health could lead you to being.....OMG.....skinny!
In what must be the most absurd health advice ever issued being
skinny “sends a potentially dangerous message” according to so called experts,
who should have their medical licences terminated for being incompetent and
deluded.
The fat bimbo teen already with an arse the size of a Cook
Straight Ferry and thighs any All Black would be proud of is considered normal.
Let’s be open and honest here.
Being fat is always unhealthy, not being skinny - except in the extreme of cases where there is an eating disorder.
It is possible for 90 per cent of the population to get down
to a normal build for their body shape.
Sometimes this normal will even be skinny in the eyes of
others.
The pro-obesity group, fellow fat arses behind the petition to
get the mannequins pulled should have asked some doctors “What is healthy build”?
“Being skinny like this plastic doll or being fat at the age
of 18?”
The answer is clear to anyone except those that most need
this advice – the fat bastards and their advocates!
Shame on Hallensteins demonising teenagers who are skinny
and live active, healthy lives.
I will never shop there again.
These skinny chicks really need to put on some weight, they are so unhealthy.
Lancet researchers found more than 2 billion people
worldwide are now overweight or obese.
That’s right: one third of the humans on the planet are fat and
lazy bastards. Not one country has been successful curbing the epidemic.
And it won’t be until the media portrays obese people as fat
and lazy bastards that this issue will be tackled head-on, the health systems we pay for won't collapse under their ample weight.
As I have suggested previously a policy of social ostracising
is one way to get results.
I am doing my bit to better the health outcomes of my fellow
humans by creating these ‘motivational’ posters.
Imagine sitting down and seeing these State-Sponsored ‘messages’
on your television!
One thing
is apparent to anyone who goes to a swimming pool…
Fat parents
breed fat kids.
The
offspring of fat parents are virtually all obese, in-line for ill-health.
According
to my failing eyesight there is no such thing as thin parents and fat kids.
Why are we
beating about the fucking bush here peoples?
If I was to
repeatedly inject a substance into my children’s bodies that would reduce their
lifespans: I would be arrested and the children taken into care.
Why do we
allow parents who have no respect for their own health to inflict their own
detrimental lifestyles on to their children?
We don’t
allow parents to shove a smoke in the gob of their kids, now do we?
But it’s
fine to serve KFC and Maccers to a 3 year old breakfast, lunch and dinner!
The official figures released by The N.Z Ministry of Health
say: 62% of Adult Pacific Islanders in New Zealand are obese.
This we all know, but no one dares state ‘the bleeding
obvious’ for fear of being labelled a racist.
Just walk the street and you’ll see Pacific Islanders are ‘huge’!
You don’t need tape measures and BMI callipers.
The excuses for this chronic and growing level of obesity
amongst the predominately Samoan, Tongan
community, invariably beats around the bush.
“It’s too easy to buy a pie”
“It’s a cultural thing to celebrate with food”
“Traditional foods are full of fat”
“We don’t understand the language”
This is all politically correct crap.
I could go to any school in Otara and ask a class of 5 year
olds “Hey, troops which is healthier, an apple of an ice-cream?"
Are there no mirrors in P.I households?
This isn’t fucking hard.
Pacific Islanders in New Zealand eat too much shit and
exercise too little.
I’ll say it again since it’s a bloody fact, not the
ramblings of Kyle Chapman.
Pacific Islanders in New Zealand eat too much shit and
exercise too little.
The Ministry of Health stats say it’s a fact, but can’t
offer a solution to sorting out the epidemic because they can’t say the
bleeding obvious.
Sure, it is easier for Pacific Islanders to get fat via
their genetics, but that’s even more reason they should take care what to eat, more
reason to get out to the gym.
An even greater reason they need to take more care what to
feed their children who, shockingly, are 25 per cent obese as well.
Since all Kiwis contribute to the health system via our
taxes – it’s about time we named and shamed the approximately 175,000 Pacific
Islanders who are too lazy to take an interest in their own health nor, for a
quarter of that grouping, that of their children.
It’s time we stopped making excuses based on ethnicity.
All airlines operate a cargo service in one form or another.
For decades they have charged air-freight customers on a
combination of the greater of the actual weight versus the size.
A big box of feathers would be charged on the size and not
the actual weight.
An infinitely fair and universal rating policy, no one sees
as being ‘unjust’.
So why therefore should a 90 kilogram person be charged the
same as a 150kg person when it comes to an identical passenger seat?
Why is the total kilo count of the baggage also never
factored in?
Due to wooly-wofter airlines being so ‘politically correct’
they are afraid to instigate what is an infinitely and fair system of rating
passengers the same as an air-freight consignment.
Passenger + Baggage = Total Kilos
Go over a threshold of say 135kgs and you are charged extra.
On my last flight I was 90kgs total (comprising 85 + 5 ) and
I consider myself to be of average build.
I am being more than generous with a threshold of 135kgs
being 45kgs (approx. 100lbs) more than what I ‘carry’ on a flight.
It’s hard to argue that currently normal sized and skinny
customers, those that pack practically aren't subsidising other passengers given
aviation fuel is the airlines largest cost.
I for one would support the first airline that instigated a
fair passenger rating schedule.
The first major airline to announce a fair rating system
would make a killing, spell disaster for fatty/packy friendly airlines as their
most profitable clients went off to the new guys and they were left with the
dross, having to be re-fuelled in-air to get to their destination.
Fatties and over-packers could moan “We won’t be
using ‘that’ airline” but they invariably would be faced with higher fares that reflected the extra
fuel they burn now they weren’t getting subsidised by other passengers.
Normal travellers would enjoy cheaper fares, not have to put
up with obese seat-mates for 13 hours and be able to put their bags in a locker
not stuffed to the gunnels with suitcases.
All in all I’m sick of being discriminated against.
Legions of fatties and over-packers deliberately being ignored at check-in
counters least airlines up-set them.
Passengers being permitted suitcases bigger than my own as 'carry-on'.
I would also like to those passengers that are so obese they
‘spill’ into other seats automatically pay for two seats. No exceptions. No
pissing around pandering to them.
Plus Clothing is a politically correct term for ‘Fat Folk Clothing’.
There are Plus Sized ‘Fat Folks’ Clothing stores the length
and breadth of the land.
These stores cater for the growing obese community who know
where their bread is buttered (with lard)
After yesterday’s article about Abercrombie and Fitch I now
regret New Zealand doesn’t have a similar athletic branded store.
A brand which targets people of ‘normal’ build – that’s to
say people in the normal BMI band for their size/weight.
It amazes me that anyone would complain against a shop that
sells clothing one size and not another?
Don’t shop there is the simple solution.
It is clear fatties feel they are being persecuted, the new
gays, conveniently ignoring all those Fat Folk Clothing companies.
To my knowledge there’s not a single exclusively athletic
clothing store outside Abercrombie and Fitch, nothing here in Christchurch that’s
for sure.
We don’t see mobs of triathletes and rowers protesting outside
Plus Stores about this inequality, now do we?
That’s because fat people want to wear athletic people
clothing – never the other way around (round – get it?)
When you weigh-up (two of me = 1 of her) the facts the people
who are being discriminated against when it comes to clothing choices are in the
skinny to normal band (as in gastric)
Bowing to PC crap are the clothing manufacturers/stores forced
to stock fat clothing rather than risk being accused of being ‘sizeist’.
Many of us are eating too much junk food, not getting enough exercise,
and are getting fat. Obesity contributes to premature death, serious diseases
and increasing health costs. The solution is to change features of the
environment that lead us to eat too much of the wrong foods and reduce our
physical activity opportunities.
There are plenty of misguided but well-meaning pressure groups in N.Z
society.
But few that can honestly be branded as plain stupid.
Amongst the top of the heap when it comes to share stupidity comes ‘Fight
the Obesity Epidemic’.
According to their religious like mantra espoused by FOE, N.Z should:
Stop the promotion of unhealthy food to children = cut advertising of
fast foods around the time children can see them, in case 10 year olds grab the family car and drive straight to Mc Donalds salivating the entire journey.
Having labels on food packaging, such as a traffic light system, so that
shoppers can easily identify healthy and unhealthy foods = demand manufacturers
of blatantly fat foods tell punters ‘This product is chocker block of crap’ when any simpleton knows this.
Introducing tax changes and/or subsidies to make healthy food more
affordable relative to less healthy food = Tax legitimate business’s for the
poor choices of a section their customers. Not all consumers of ice-cream for example are obese. No one in my family could be considered fat and we all enjoy ice-cream on occasion. To propose we should pay more for a product someone else abuses is clearly wrong. It's akin to taxing non-smokers.
FOE can’t seem to grasp the simple concept: people become fat because
they eat too much crap and don’t exercise enough.
There are no comparable campaigns to avoid certain foods in sub-Saharan
Africa and for good reason I might add.
That’s because the food they have access to in this region is often less
than that one needs to function.
In its base form food is energy.
Consume too little or too much and it’s adverse to one’s health.
So lets for a brief moment imagine N.Z adopting FOE’s Stalinist polices
when it comes to obesity.
KFC and even your ‘one dollar’ sweet mixtures from the local dairy would
be festooned with skull and cross-bones health warnings.
The price of a bottle of Coke would go up and the Government would
replace adverts for Burger King with the vegetable and fruit range at Fresh
Choice.
Adverts for Cadbury’s chocolate would appear in the back-pages of N.Z Truth magazine
beside those of an out-call massage.
The gapping hole in FOE’s campaign is that niggling factoid:
‘Fat people already know their over-eating is going to result in health
issues and premature death’
Fat people know what a good diet is, that pizza every night is not a
good thing.
Fat people know about the benefits of exercise.
They choose instead to ignore them and indulge in excessive often crappy
food.
Fat people can’t be fucked walking the dog around the block after work.
Nothing FOE proposes will change the mind-set of fat folk in New
Zealand.
Evidently smoking, gambling and drug use are ‘so-90’s’ and grown unfashionable.
According to Christchurch-based Professor Doug Sellman the new battleground in human addictive products is the very thing that sustains us all.
Food lures 1 in 3 humans into a destructive path, leading to health problems and premature death.
Sellman even places the dangers of food alongside methamphetamines.
"Like people with methamphetamine, you don't get the shaking, but it's the craving, feeling deprived and really needing it. It's like they need those particular foods as if their lives depended on it. But they don't; they've got their wires crossed.”
“Like drug addictions, people addicted to food needed increasingly large ‘hits’ to get their daily fix.
"Even though they know it's bad for them they still just feel this drive to eat."
What a load of crap.
Firstly when he says these new-age addicts need ‘hits’: it is hits of Coke not water, pizza and not a salad.
They may-over eat but so do triathletes and our Olympic rowers etc.
Then we need to place our lateral thing-caps on and ask…..
- Are there now signs affixed to the local bakery warning any fatty after a nocturnal fix 'No Cream Buns Kept Here at Night'?
- Do we see obese people embezzling their relatives, work places to get more money to spend at ‘All you can Eat for $20’ Restaurants?
- Have you encountered large groups of dishevelled fat people hanging around KFC looking for scraps?
- Do fat people enter a life of prostitution so they can afford Belgium chocolates?
- Do people live on the streets after wasting their lives away on Fish N’ Chips?
- Is the professor’s genomic affliction rare amongst the peoples of Sub Saharan Africa?
In its base form: food is simply energy.
Humans need energy to live and function.
Some humans consume too much energy.
They become fat due to this excess energy.
Faced with this situation the over-weight then have two clear, accessible courses of action to normalise their weight (a.) consume less energy (b.) burn-off excess energy through exercise.
Obese people choose not to take these options of their own volition.
It is hard to get fit, re-focus oneself to show some self-control, change years of a life-style.
It’s far, far easier to continue to blob out in the couch stuffing your gob with crap food.
What Professor Sellman is doing is allowing millions of Kiwi’s to abdicate self-responsibility.
Make them think it’s all down to their genes that made them obese and not years of poor health choices.
Create an unwarranted victim mentality.
But it’s not that easy per Sellman, it’s actually not a physical craving.
“it's exactly the same as drug and alcohol addiction. You just have this urge, even though you know you are not supposed to eat . . . and once you start you can't stop, you just keep eating and eating. It's not just a physical problem, it's mental."
Where I see ‘mental’ I read: weak-willed. When I see the the white-line in the middle of the road I know not to cross it.
In the same article the spokeswoman for Overeaters Anonymous backed-up Sellmens claims, saying ‘food was irresistible’ as she ate her second sausage-roll for morning tea, washing it down with a 1.5 of Pepsi.
BTW I tried googling an Overeaters Anonymous group in Mogadishu but came-up short.
And what is Sellman panacea to assist these poor folk in our midst who can’t be bothered going for a walk at night or resisting a second helping of desert, due to their brains being wired the wrong way?
"The only effective way for an individual [to conquer their addiction] now is surgery”
Great let’s bankrupt the country.
Let’s close down our cancer wards and have them full (pun intended) of far more deserving stomach-stapling patients.
Poor things, I am in tears as I write this.
Being struck-down with debilitating disease like obesity that see’s victims sitting around watching hours of T.V and agonisingly forced to eat take-aways for breakfast, lunch and dinner must be share torture.
Remarkably according to Sellman getting obese is in effect share torture and I am simply misinformed, an unsympathetic sod (the later is true) You and I should adopt the Professors sycophantic world view on obesity and therefore by rights come to the same conclusion as his research: Example 1: Mahe Drysdale (Single Skull Olympic Gold Medalist in London) will be 20 stone by this time next year with all the food his body craves. Example 2: Fat Kids are doomed to die prematurely, suffer ill-health unless they get a gastric bypass.
Let’s therefore treat Professor Sellmans ascertains with the severity they pose and prioritise health care in New Zealand. Let Kiwi women give birth at home, on footpaths if necessary so that the mentally impinged obese can get the hospital treatment Sellman thinks they richly, as in the food they eat, deserve.
Sellman and Fatties Anonymous won’t rest until there’s street collectors on every corner chasing money for their worthwhile cause.
An annual Fat-Belly Day!
A ten dollar donation will pay for one staple.
What a f#cking joke!
And we pay professionals to come-up with this contemptible load of horse droppings?!
The complete abdication of individual responsibility is now hoisted on to society as a whole.
The vast majority of obese people are victims of their own actions, not their genes. Professor Sellman should pin the lyrics of this Tim Minchin song above his desk and recite them three times daily.
Atheists do look for answers to existence itself. They just don't make them up. What am I like? Well, imagine Reginald Perrin, only more neurotic & dependent on beer to function normally in public.
