was against the country's law and religious beliefs. Savita Halappanavar, 31,
died last month in University Hospital Galway after three days of agony, the
Irish Times reported overnight (NZ time). Doctors told her she was losing her 17-week pregnancy, as
her cervix had dilated and the amniotic sac had broken, and that the foetus
would not survive. Her husband told the newspaper she begged for birth to be
induced but was told this was not possible because the foetal heartbeat was
still present "and this is a Catholic country". PraveenHalappanavar
said that his wife, a Hindu, said, "I am neither Irish nor Catholic,"
but they said there was nothing they could do.”
The outward vestiges of Catholicism’s wealth and immortality is; The Vatican Bank.
The Vatican Bank is not a bank in the same terms that define first-tare global financial institutions, such as the one you and I hold accounts at.
This bank operates at a level that would make an Internet finance company in the Bahamas with a P.O Box for an address, look like The Bank of England.

Which depositor is which, is frankly hard to tell.

When it comes to symbiotics like The Vatican Church and Italian Mafia, a quick look at historic-record shows the line between both groups is some-what blurred.

Harrowing & sickening details of decades of sexual abuse by Roman Catholic clergy in Belgium have been released by Church investigators.
Dubbed The Adriaenssens Report after the chief investigator, Peter Adriaenssen, its pages contain a litany of sadistic treatment - in short -mass child-sex-abuse:
* Child abuse was so extensive that it was going on in almost every diocese and at every Church-run boarding school in Belgium. The investigators were overwhelmed with reports and what they produced was only 'the tip of the iceberg.'
* The priests almost exclusively enjoyed molesting pre-pubescent boys. Assaults on boys usually ended by their 15th year.
* Toddlers were considered ‘fair game’. Girls as young as two were raped.
* The worst of the abuse was in the 60’s and 70’s and its decrease in later decades was only down to fewer priests being involved in the education system.
* The Bishop of Bruges, Roger Vangheluwe, was in on the score. He kept his known abuse closer to home by raping his nephew. The Church tried to bribe the victim’s family to keep them quiet.
* When confronted with overwhelming evidence of this mass-abuse the Church tried to cover it up and Police were forced to break into Church offices to locate records. The Church employed lawyers to fight this seizure and won a case for the raids to be considered illegal – thus successfully burying the true scale of their crimes.
* 13 known victims were so traumatised by their abuse they later committed suicide.
* The Vatican knew what was going-on and left them to it. How do Catholic apologists respond to facts like this?
By saying these cases were isolated and no worse than the rest of society?
Well that’s the same erroneous and vacuous excuse given by the incestuous pedophile who was in charge of the Church when these crimes against humanity were being perpetrated.

In July of 1973 three car bombs went off in the sleepy Northern Ireland village of Claudy.
The death toll was nine, including children.
Hundreds were injured.
The mastermind of this atrocity was a Northern Ireland Catholic Priest and IRA sympathiser, Fr James Chesney.
In the just released Police ombudsman’s report, 38 years after the terrorist attack, it has been revealed The Catholic Church on both sides of the Irish border knew of Chesney’s murderous role and further-more protected the priest from prosecution.
In damning revelations information has come to light that explosive traces had been found in the boot of Fr Chesney's parish car when he was stopped at an RUC checkpoint in September 1972.
When implicated Chesney gave false testimony to cover-up for himself and his co-conspirators. Similar to cases of pedophilia once ‘the heat went on’ The Catholic Church, under the auspice of it’s then head Cardinal William Conway, conspired to spirit Chesney south to a new position and out of the reaches of the authorities and justice.
The report also reveals that Chesney continued his ‘IRA activities’ in his new diocese - all with full knowledge of those in authority of The Church – who did nothing to stop him or turn him over to Police.
Not unsurprisingly The Irish Catholic Church have long refused, much to the chagrin of victims families, to release its files on their role in harbouring and aiding this terrorist in their midst.

Yes, indeed today’s editorial (excerpts above) in The Dominion Post certainty calls it like it is.
Here we have a mainstream New Zealand newspaper attacking the institution called The Catholic Church, suggesting it no longer has any credibility ‘preaching’ to society on a range of moral issues – when it is clear to the public the Church has operated at times in a deliberate amoral fashion.
Contrast this frank report in The Dom.Post with the sycophantic press-release from Bishop Patrick Dunn (Catholic Bishop of Auckland) that appeared in The New Zealand Herald on the same day.
Dunn indicates the media has wrongly targeted Benedict and he finds these reports “astonishing.” and goes on to-use that tied-old line “it was only a small number of priests.”
Dunn exhibits exactly the traits and arrogance that plague The Catholic Church.
In-fact the root-cause of its current, irrevocable demise.
Essentially Dunn believes in the centuries-old doctrine of papal infallibility – everything is hunky-dory & the church can do no wrong.
Mix this mind-set with a liberal dose of paranoia that The New York Times and Das Spiegel have somehow invented the stories about Ratzingers involvement in two cover-ups – including presumably the falsification of court documents, public records and the sworn testimony of dozens, if not hundreds of witness’s.
Dunn’s article is an insult to ones intelligence, born of ignorance of the truth - he refuses to see.
As I have repeatedly rallied - if The Catholic Church was any other legal entity, other than that of a religious order – authority’s through-out the world would have closed it down decades ago - as a threat to child-welfare.
The whole organisation is riddled with child abusers and still to this day undertakes a mandatory policy to cover-up these abusers which extend right up-to its current fuehrer (in fact it was Bene-dick that ratified the policy!)
This BBC Documentary shows the scant-regard the Catholic Church in Ireland and its zombie-like followers, including Papist Police & Politicians, have for child welfare. It’s a sad indictment on Catholic dominated countries like Ireland, who turned a blind-eye to the sickos within ‘The Church’, giving them a free-reign to systematically abuse-children, the most vulnerable, with virtual impunity.

In his puerile address to parish gathering in a northern suburb of Rome, Nazi combatant Benedict XVI said that in the modern world many people, including some believers, had forgotten that if they failed to “admit blame and promise to sin no more”, they risked “eternal damnation — the Inferno”. Hell “really exists and is eternal, even if nobody talks about it much any more”, he said.
The reason why no one talks about a medieval hell any-more is people nowadays can normally read & write and cage-rattling like this doesn’t scare the natives like it did in the hey-days of the 1500’s.
The sad & abhorrent aspects of this doctrine is the practice of using hell, the devil and his minions etc to scare the living-crap out of children in their care.

‘Freedom’ to The Catholic Church (Vatican City)Incorporated means the freedom to treat women as second class citizens and little more than breeding-ewes, walking-wombs to inseminate. Homosexuals are nothing but sodomites, who will ultimately burn in hell - but why not make the faggots mortal-lives as close as the imaginary view of hell can be in the mean-time?
This piece of legislation has the potential to paralyse The Catholic Church as it would allow disenfranchised homosexuals and women to litigate via Employment Courts and The Catholic Church already has had it soiled-hands full, paying-out billions in compensation for the physical/sexual/mental abuse it’s employees perpetrated against tens of thousands of innocent children in every-part of the globe. Abuse, The Churches hierarchy and RATzinger personally did their best to cover-up.
Here’s hoping ‘The Equality Bill’ becomes law in The U.K sooner rather than later and that New Zealand has the fortitude to follow-suit with similar legislation that currently allows religious groups to discriminate against individuals based on their sex/sexuality.
Atheists do look for answers to existence itself. They just don't make them up. What am I like? Well, imagine Reginald Perrin, only more neurotic & dependent on beer to function normally in public.
