Using the backward reasoning of ‘when in Rome’ FIFA and the participant countries have all turned a blind-eye to the imminent slaughter of cows as a part of blessing ceremonies at each of South Africa’s stadia.

This is not a pleasant and humane method of slaughter for the poor cattle, sacrificed to appease the superstitious Zulu’s who seek the blessing of their dead relatives.

For those who are squeamish it may pay to give this You Tube video a miss.

For The South Africans who want to present their country and the continent in a new light these sacrifices will go to prove their detractors jibes about ‘primitive natives’ and bring in to focus their ability to host the worlds largest sporting event.

Justification’s that the inhumane slaughter of animals is part of African values and culture speaks volumes about these very values and culture.

One hopes The N.Z Football Association, who have so-far failed to say a word on this issue, will have the guts to speak-out against this mass animal abuse.

New Zealand’s Christian Taliban demand their version of Christmas can be the only one!

Christmas is the one time of the year where you would anticipate all of Christianities variants would unite to celebrate the birth of their messiah – bury the hatchet.

But there has been few Christian good-tidings for St Michaels Anglican Church in Auckland over the festive season.

Recently they placed this risqué poster outside their church to simulate debate amongst all peoples about the story of Christ’s birth , including non-believers, or as Archdeacon Glynn Cardy put-it “We actually think God is about the power of love as shown in Jesus, which is something quite different than a literal man up in the sky,"

The archdeacon says the plan behind the billboard was to lampoon the literal interpretation of the Christmas conception story – and frankly they did a good job and get my congratulations on a great marketing job – it’s a winner.

However whilst atheists may have gotten a giggle out of this novel approach to ‘bring Christ back into Christmas’ – not so the fundamentalists in the Christian ranks.

And it doesn’t get any more fundamentalist in New Zealand than Family First and The Catholic Church.

Their followers and ilk have been stirred into action and in the ultimate act of Christian charity first vandalized and then ripped the poster down.

St Michaels office phone has forced to go straight to a message centre after be lambasted with abusive calls and threats.

The Police are now involved.

Like any good fundamentalists the Christian Taliban see themselves as ‘the true believers’ and ‘holders of the truth’ and will break the law, threaten and abuse those that stand in their way – even if their targets are the largest Christian denomination in New Zealand.

To interpret The Bible any other way than their own – is to quote several threats emailed to the church ‘blasphemy’.

It’s not till you take a look at the backgrounds of these National MP’s that sided with Labour and Greens to see the Easter Shopping Legislation defeated you see why National has a mini-caucus that answers only to the God of The Old Testament and not to mortals.

MP’s that are happy to turn their backs on both the voters and the party they supposedly back and rode into power on.

As a male I do heaps of channel-surfing and with the whole gambit of Sky Channels at my disposal that equates to a shit-load of random channel changes in any one evening.

Two nights ago I stumbled on-to this ‘Only in America’ snippet.

I genuinely had to check the channel to see if this was not some sort of comedy skit such was the farcical nature.

Looking over the clip again off You Tube the absurdity of this so-called ‘news’ item becomes even more clearer.

If your nominated God was going to offer ‘a sign’ surely he/she could do a better job than this?

This is a run-down farm in Connecticut, which appears to have more genetic throw-backs amongst its human occupants than its bovine.

Then there’s the cross itself.

Frankly the cross on this bull looks as if it was done in water-colours and the artist dabbed a bit too much water on the brush. The technique sucks.

The cross bears more resemblance to Scientology than a Christian crucifix so were of an opinion this was a sign from a deity rather than something unusual and mildly interesting – there is more evidence of the mysterious beyond-the-grave works of L.Ron Hubbard as opposed to the nameless Abrahamic god.

The real interesting thing in this clip is this – what happens if this bulls off-spring all have this pattern?

Will this mean Darwinian biology kicks-in and their progeny live their lives out without threat of premature death and thus become the dominant cows by virtue of this ‘cross-like’ pattern, coupled-with superstitious hick-farmers who spare them from being made into burger patties?

Reports authors state Family First mislead N.Z Public

When does Family First actually get something right?

This ideologically driven pressure-group is not gifted at picking winners and has failed dismally to achieve the goals it has set out to do = a society based on The Old Testament.

Time after time Family First and their ubiquitous spokesman Bob McCoskie shoot-off at the mouth (often in tongues) rather than doing a semblance of research & thinking-through the consequences of their actions.

This time last years they claimed Divorce Rates were harming the New Zealand Economy. One small fact seemed to have escaped their paid researchers - but not myself. Taking their Leviticus logic to its natural conclusion, the fastest way to reduce the so-called harmful effects of divorce is for more Kiwis to become atheists – who are comparatively less represented than Christians in statistics.

Family First wanted Kiwi’s to boycott The Hells Pizza chain (2006) over their condom promotion – giving their targets more free publicity than they ever could have possibly paid for – increasing their sales and establishing their brand.

The year prior they demanded the T.V Program ‘Californication’ be taken off our screens – which again had just the opposite effect – alerting the public there was graphic sex scenes on free-to-view state T.V resulting in ratings sky-rocketed.

So you can firmly place where Family First falls in the ideological spectrum Bob McCoskie personally wanted The Simpson's taken off our screens in 2005 due to foul language.

Over the years bans and boycotts are Family Firsts modus operandi & the list grows year by year they crudely attempt to sledge-hammer their so-called ‘family values’ on-to a reluctant society.

‘Boobs on Bikes’ – should be banned.

‘AIDS pamphlets depicting genitalia ’ – should be banned

‘Web Site Miss Bimbo’ – should be boycotted

‘Girls kissing Girls Radio Competition’ – banned and boycotted.

Now the latest flummox in a long line of them, is their failled attempt to repeal smacking legislation. Family First were one of the major drivers of the appalling worded referendum held this year that wasted 9 million dollars and achieved - yet again - nothing.

This weeks released report commissioned by the incoming National Government into whether smacking laws were effective and if inconsequential smacking by parents had lead to criminal prosecution (which Family First claimed was the reality) has lead the authors of the report to single-out Family Firsts central-role in scare-mongering.

Yet, again Family First got their facts horribly wrong and many of the cases they had championed as being evidence of ‘good parents being targeted’ were at best selective and as one of the authors Nigel Latta told New Zealanders “that can lead it to throwing weight behind parents who don't deserve it and in so doing mislead the public.”

Latta went on to tell of one case Family First had ‘backed’ on Radio New Zealand that they had solicited support for their cause by highlighting “a case were a parent prosecuted for hitting a child with a pillow " but went on to clarify that “at face value ...an extreme over-reaction" but then introduced the real-facts that “it turned out the (perpetrator) had more than 70 convictions for violent offences.”

It was just the bit about the pillow-slapping Family First hollered-about to the local news-media – not the other 70 plus cases of assaults the abuser was found to have perpetrated.

In-fact ALL the cases Family First forwarded cases to Mr Latta and his committee to review as part of some pattern of over-zealous authorities prosecuting innocent parents – in not one of them did Latta feel Child, Youth and Family and police behaved in an appropriate fashion.

Latta is scathing of the Family Firsts selective reporting and its scaremongering – telling McCoskie and his rabble they were at times duped into believing false testimony and, as I said in my introduction, not doing their homework.

Thanks to Latta’s honesty and frankness New Zealanders now know Family First, a so-called Christian based organisation, were happy to back convicted scum-bag child-abusers to achieve their narrow political goals.

Catholic Church produces its own Foreplay Guide

Just a week after it was revealed Pope John Paul got his rocks-off with the masochistic practice of self-flagellation (refer article below) comes another doozy from The Church of Rome.

Life after Death ‘The Evidence’ – Sweat F**k All!

I’ve never heard of this numb-skull D’Souza before this, but he doesn’t get off to a good start when he’s asked “Is there life after death?” and he replies “I think there is?” Hardly convincing stuff when you are trying to flog-off a book proving life after death is real.

Next his constant, if not convenient, confusion of ‘near death’ with ‘death death’ – there is a big difference between the two concepts – we happen to call it eternity.

No one has ever come back from the full-blooded version of death.

If I pumped a full magazine into his head, I don’t think he’ll be telling us about ‘tunnels’ and ‘lights’ anytime soon.

Why the hell does the Irish Government continue to ignore the first principal obligation of any legitimate government – protection and safety of its citizens?

What would it take for the Irish Government to say “this organisation is a threat to the safety and well-being of our citizens” and close them down?

Do they require decades of mass-murder rather than decades of mass-rapes that occurred?

Just how many Irish children have to be staved, raped and mentally abused before those in power in Ireland move to deal with the orchestrators of this abuse once and for all?

What sort of government wants a powerful group in it’s midst that harbors, protects, feeds and then prays at the burial place of pedophiles?

NEPAL'S HINDU MASS ANIMAL SLAUGHTER HAS BEGUN!

Participants believe that animal sacrifices for the Hindu goddess Gadhimai will end evil and bring prosperity.

First a French Court found The Church of Scientology had defrauded its members and this week across the Tasman we have a South Australian MP calling for an enquiry in Canberra.

The Australian Senator Xenophon (no he's not a distant relation to the evil space-overlord) said he had received correspondence from former members of Scientology implicated the organisation in a range of crimes, including forced imprisonment, coerced abortions, embezzlement of church funds, physical violence, intimidation and blackmail.

Then Scientology's chief spokesman, Tommy Davis (evidently Tom seems a popular name for those who believe in Alien occupations of earth and the liberal use of very large numbers) stormed out of a television interview with Martin Bashir in a rage befitting a person of a far lower operating level [refer You-Tube video above]

The thetans must well and truly be enveloping the COS hierarchy producing itchy-welts that won’t go away – even with the most thorough auditing and creams.

And I for one feel sorry for them!

That’s right I feel sorry for The Church of Scientology.

The major thing that COS does wrong and pisses the public-off - is to charge above market rates for their load of superstition.

The ‘Johnny come lately’ COS also has the audacity to believe in invisible alien life forms as opposed to the traditional invisible deities worshipped for millennia – this too brings it’s detractors.

Home-Grown Christian Terrorists(?) face lesser charges!

It would seem to most that the religiously motivated crime such as that allegedly perpetrated in Blenheim by three self-confessed ‘Christian Activists’ (September 2008) would by rights be deemed an act of sabotage, under newly drafted post Sept 11th terrorism laws, and the suspects immediately imprisoned awaiting trial.

But the three activists, Adrian Leason, Fr Peter Murnane and Sam Land who allegedly deflated the protective dome covering a satellite dish at Waihopai last year have laughingly been charged with little more than intentional damage and burglary – rather than sabotage.

They now face a maximum of 6 years in jail rather than 14 had the charges been made under The Terrorism Act.

A trial is scheduled for The Wellington High Court in March next year.

New Zealand obviously is a soft-option for those like Ploughshares Aotearoa group behind the attack who want to see the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, Saddam Husseins old government reinstated in Iraq, and are willing to attack the equipment of those trying to bring peace and security to the peoples of these embattled countries.

To re-fresh your memory immediately after allegedly setting the Kiwi taxpayer back a million bucks with their wanton vandalism, the trio built a shrine and knelt in prayer to remember the people killed by United States military activity. Hardly surprisingly no prayers appeared to have been offered at the time to the victims of al-Qaeda or the despotic regimes that New Zealand and other countries are spilling blood to remove.

Despite being expressly forbidden by the Courts in Blenheim last year for those charged with the attack not to mix in each other company – guess who turned up in his bloodied bandages to have his chance to preach anti-Semitism at Leason’s protest?

That’s right it’s good old Friar Murnane getting stuck into those ‘Christ Killers’.

Footnote: Just to emphasis the deep-seated Anti-Jewish streak amongst the protesters in Wellington later that day another Catholic Priest desecrated an Israeli war memorial.

As I have stated before had the person who attacked the Waihopai Base been Mullah Mohammed Omar rather than a Catholic Friar Murnane - Police Prosecutors would view this differently.

Had they all bowed to Mecca after the attack rather than knelling and praying to a Christian god, we would be seeing the first religiously inspired terrorist trial in March rather than these watered-down civil charges.

New Zealand makes ‘The’ World-Cup!

On Saturday night Wellington hosted the biggest single game of sport held in New Zealand since The Rugby World-Cup final in 1987 and the ‘must-win’ New Zealand-Bahrain World Cup qualifier on Saturday night, well and truly lived up-to all the hype.

Rugby-head Keith Quinn, of all people, called it the biggest ever game of sport played in Wellington.

As tough as it is to accept for its many petty-jealous detractors -no other sport has the interest and appeal of football around the globe.

The equivalent of a rugby test in football is a friendly, and no one in football gives a monkeys about a nothing-at-stake friendly such as the dire All Blacks versus Italy game held the same night.

All that counts in football is The World-Cup and to a lesser extent The European Cup so every nation on this planet waits four years for the chance just to compete at the tournament – let alone win the thing.

And when I say ‘every nation’ I mean ‘every nation’ so the relevance to those who have no equivalent event in their code is often lost.

Footballing minnow New Zealand is now on the biggest single sporting stage on this planet.

N.Z’s win against Bahrain featured on both on the home page of BBC (# 1 sporting story) and CNN (# 3 sporting story) over the weekend.

What really struck me on Saturday night was the crowd atmosphere in Wellington.

Finally a passionate group of Kiwi’s showing their emotions rather than sitting like cardboard cut-outs glued to seats, dressed in black, chanting insufferably like downs-syndrome suffers “All Blackkkkkk’s”.

I will always regret not going to The Cake-Tin on Saturday.

New Zealander should unite and be proud of our footballers and the crowd for what they achieved on Saturday night.

Let’s get this right, Nidal Malik Hasan had no problem telling anyone who wanted to listen “It was a war on Islam” and not a “War on terror”, ranting on extremist web-sites and attending a Mosque which was frequented by two 9/11 terrorists – all with the knowledge of his superiors.

Where did his comrades in arms think all his dabbling with radical religions was leading?

Did the U.S Army think Major Hasan was doing a field-practical for an article he was writing in The Lancet on the effects combat had on American soldiers psychological welfare?

Those that follow the teachings of Muhammed are all Muslims first and carriers of a certain passport a distant second.

Given the choice of fighting for their country over their religion, Islamic adherents all sing from the same Quran.

Those that ignore this fact are seriously negligent, more so when they give them the arms to perpetrate the crime, ignoring the danger-signs so ‘they won’t up-set religious sensibilities.’

On the same day Major Nidal Malik Hasan was running amok his army base screaming “Allahu Akbar!” a southern Somalian man was sentenced then stoned a man to death for adultery. His pregnant girlfriend was spared the fate – until that is, she gives birth. Closer to home in Philippines a kidnapped school-headmaster was beheaded by his Muslim captors.

Three uncivilised & appalling acts that receive not only a total absence of condemnation within The Muslim community anywhere on the planet – but more worryingly not one sentence from western media or authorities focusing on the perpetrators religious motivations.

All we ever hear is the evil doers are “radicals” and “a minority” – as if this changes the fact they are motivated by their beliefs?

Should it be just a minority, say just 2 in 100, have you ever stopped to think that means we currently live on a planet with 25 million religious terrorists!

That’s the equivalent of the populations of Australia and New Zealand put together.

If it was Aussies and Kiwi’s indiscriminately killing and maiming other peoples of the world in the name of some ‘greater cause’ forcing ‘our way of life’ on every one else in the world, by force as necessary – would other countries stand idly by and let this happen?

So say after me “the principals of freedom, liberty are incompatible with the teaching of Islam.”

Islam is a religion that literally says “if you are not one of us you are against us.”

Tolerance has never been a part of their mandate, except as an avenue to use for their own expedience.

Even a small population of Muslims in the midst of liberal Western countries will it as their God-given right to demand their hosts change their established way of life to suit their own narrow beliefs.

Historically coexistence with Islam only occurred when all factions stuck to their piece of the globe.

The Israeli Government have gone back to the one tried and true method of stopping potential trouble - building a massive concrete wall.

This should be a lesson all other countries should adopt, restricting immigration should be the first priority.

The irony here is the U.S Military Service will continue to ban homosexuals from its ranks and the rest of the ‘politically correct’ world e.g. New Zealand allows this medieval barbarism to occur all over the globe, without wanting to stand-up for our principals & upset anyone, like say our major trading partners or the followers of the warmongering Mohammed in our midst.

By institutionalising so-called respect for all religions, irrespective of how abhorrent and foreign their actions and dogma are – we in ‘the West’ are actually protecting the rights of their membership to act unlawfully under our own laws.

If you want to bring the human equivalent of a pit-bull terrier into your own household – then sooner or later expect there to be carnage and recriminations.

At first I rated this as a crude marketing ploy from one of the world’s richest entities - not renowned for it’s innovation in this area - more indoctrination. .

But then I thought – hey where else can disenfranchised homophobes and sexist C of E members run-off to these-days to get their fill of bigotry?

Let’s face-it their choices are stark.

It’s either a journey to a local mosque and regularly bowing to Mecca, or knelling to kiss the Fisher-mans ring.

Christians are more familiar with the later.

So Pope Bene-Dick has reached out his ringed-finger, as opposed to his preferred ring-piece, to Anglicans to come join his gang and bully-up the old fashioned Christian way on Jews, Homos and keep those bimbos disenfranchised, pregnant and in the kitchen baking something.

But his master-plan has one flaw.

What happens if these born-again Catholics come with nasty baggage?

By baggage, we are talking a wife and children – the normal balanced things our species enjoy – but a big ‘no no’ amongst the homo-erotic world of Priests - simply replace bath houses & glory holes with rectory (derived from the Latin word for bottom) and confessional booths.

In what must be one of the most appropriate choices of wording ever issued by The Vatican media the prospect of Anglicans joining their clergy with a wife and children has been labeled as ‘back-dooring’.

Now if ever there was an organisation with centuries of experience in ‘back-dooring’ it must be The Catholic Church – so it is going to be hard to get this married Priest thing past them.

On October 20, a debate in London organised by Intelligence Squared, resulted in a crushing defeat for the ‘lambs to the slaughter’ who fronted for The Catholic Church.

The motion – The Catholic Church is a force for good in the world – was resoundingly defeated. The final vote was 268 in favour, 1,876 against – and ‘the don’t knows’ totaled 34.

The result is hardly a surprise given the subject matter and the opponents for the proposition - Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry, who utterly demolished their rivals.

The New Zealand Church of Odin (1980-1983) ‘The White Man's Religion’

For over three decades, the name Kerry Bolton (born 1956) has been synonymous, with far right politics in New Zealand.

Dr Paul Spoonley, author of ‘The Politics of Nostalgia‘, suggests Bolton was involved with the N.Z National Socialist Party at the tender age of 14.

Bolton's political CV is extensive, to say the least: secretary of the New Zealand Democratic Nationalist Party which was formed in 1975, founded New Force along with with Cantabrian David Crawford (1981)which then became Nationalist Workers Party in 1983, secretary for the New Zealand Fascist Union in 1997, 1999 saw him involved with New Zealand Workers Front, and last heard of was the secretary of the New Zealand National Front.

Bolton (who sometimes calls himself Dr K.R Bolton or Wulf Grimwald) is a prolific author - a couple of his more interesting publications being ‘Animal Welfare in The Third Reich’ and ‘Jung and the Volkisch Movement’.

In addition to Bolton’s veritable ‘shopping-list’ of political parties, he also holds another (dubious?) similar distinction – the creator of several ‘do it yourself’ religions.

Recently Bolton was the subject of a Waikato University thesis by Roel van Leeuwen , which looked at one of these creations ‘The Order of the Left Hand Path’, an organisation started by Bolton in Wellington, during the 1990s , which van Lewuwan wrote ‘synthesised Satanism with neo-Nazism’.

Bolton considered the thesis to be a ‘smear’ on his reputation and Waikato University was forced to censor sections. This ‘bun-fight’ is still going-on as at publication of this blog.

Around the time Bolton was formed the New Force Party, he also began his long intrigue with what would popularly be called ‘fringe’ religious beliefs.

The weekend after a New Force Conference in December of 1980, he helped form ‘The Church of Odin’.

A Church dedicated to the Norse God Odin, was not unique to just New Zealand.

The oldest modern church worshipping Odin, was started across the Tasman by lawyer Alexander Rud Mills (1885-1964) Melbournite, Rud Mills, formulated his ideas after travelling to Europe in the early 30’s & at one stage was involved with the British ‘Imperialist Fascist League’ (a right wing version of Sir Oswald Mosleys ‘British union of Fascists) In 1933 he journeyed to Germany where he garnished a personal audience with Adolf Hitler. Upon his return to Australia in 1934 Mills started The First Anglecyn Church of Odin, along with a number of short-lived newspapers, like ‘National Socialist’. During WW2 Mills was interned by The Australian Government as a possible Nazi sympathiser.

Trying to summerise Mills brand of Odinism is an exercise in itself, and worthy of a separate dissertation. Articles on Mills point to his desire to replace Australia's traditional Anglo-Saxon Christian institutions with his own brand of racially based mixture of mysticism & socialism. On one hand he drew up a Decalogue that is a blatant copy of The Anglican Church, the word Anglecynn being the ancient version for Church of England, then in the next breath Mills stated he abhorred Jesus Christ. Add into this ‘Norse melting-pot’ elements from the Masons & Rosicrucian's. His unique brand of worship remarkably still has its followers, even today (minus the now unfashionable bits about Hitler, anti-semitism etc)

"Today, Odinism is thriving as never before, and a new generation of Australians and New Zealanders is discovering that its ancient truths are as relevant today as they were in the springtime of our people. If you dare to "peer into the dark abyss", if your mind is open to future possibilities, if you can seriously consider the idea that were it not for Christianity we would be far more advanced and secure than we are today, then you are already on the path to Odinism[Above modern-day Aussie followers at Mills grave in Melbourne]

Now to the United States. In 1971, shortly after the death of her husband Alex, Else Christensen (1913-2005) formed the Odinist Fellowship from her caravan in Florida. Later Christensen would move her trailer north to Vancouver, her first stop in North America after fleeing post war Europe from Denmark. Amongst the Christensen’s circle of friends was James Warner a leading organisor in The American Nazi Party, who was a follower of the writings of Francis Yockley. Warner, himself an ordained minister and Grand Dragon of The KKK, had the idea of starting a church by the same name, but failed in his attempts, and he passed the baton to his close friends (including a veritable library of material he had gathered). Unquestionably Else Christensens initial interest in racial radicalism via Odinism, came as a result her of interactions with Warner and her & her husbands enamoration with Mills works. Christensen’s (also called ‘Folk Mother’ by her followers) brand of Odinism involved communal, socialist communities all operating independently and a North America minus big-business and heavy-industry. Else saw prisons as a great source of membership, creating her own Odinist prison ‘outreach’ programme, the effectiveness she got to test personally, after she received a 35 month stretch for drug trafficking – at age 79!

Like it’s Anitipodean and North American name-sakes, the New Zealand Church of Odin adopted this heady combination of National Socialism, and Viking mystique – but little of their substance.

Boltons co-founder in New Zealand, David Crawford, indicated Florida was the world-headquarters in November, 1981 along with accompanying statements that alluded to “tens of thousands of [worldwide] members” and added to his attempts at credibility “the church has been going about 15 years”.

Crawford was seemingly wide of the mark on all fronts here.

The origins of modern Odinism, firmly steamed from Alexander Mills ‘across the ditch’, rather than his devote Else Christensen, and by 1981 her humble caravan, had only acted as the North American ‘head-office’ for a decade.

In the same article Crawford, heckles raised, attempted to further bolster the Church of Odins (NZCO) global stature by claiming “it is strong enough to fund its own research projects into its beginnings in Europe”. I guess what Crawford was alluding to here was the Warners wealth of paperwork, inherited by the Christensens, then edited and mail-ordered in it’s abridged form to New Forces post office box in Paraparaumu.

Evidently New Zealanders were slow to adopt Odin.

Crawford put the number that had attended their last ‘invitee only’ service in Christchurch at “ten or eleven”.

This is probably understandable, when it became clear to prospective members, exactly what this ‘church’ was all about.

For most that process of deduction, happening very shortly after learning the churches catch-cry "Odinism: The White Man's Religion".

This catch-cry not only narrowed its scope of membership & alienated large tracts within the general populous (much like ‘New Force’ I might add).

Interestingly it must have also prevented Bolton’s own son, a part Maori, from its already thin ranks.

“We don’t support anything that undermines the unity of the white race”.

“The Church of Odin is exclusively for whites”

The worship of Odin and his fellow Norse Gods within the NZCO, seemed to be very liberally applied & enforced.

The N.Z Church boasted there were no ceremonies, but there were feasts, the major one coinciding with The Northern Hemisphere’s Summer Solstice.

The credibility of NZCO is tested on this issue of a Summer Solstice Feast observance & you would have to question the amount of literature Bolton/Crawford & Co were working-off via the ‘folk mother’ in Florida, using this gross error alone.

Yule is the old name for the pagan festival held at northern Winter Solstice, or December 21, celebrating the sun and the power of the gods, Odin in particular. Yule is actually another name for Odin, and what we know as Santa, is a modern-day creation using legends & customs that owe much of their origins to Nordic traditions.

Still why let the facts get in the way of a good story, and besides, I’d imagine it didn’t take much of an excuse with this lot, for a spit-roast & a piss-up!

The internal liberalism, bordering on anarchism, within NZCO circles extended to the extent members, could opt into believing in the principal Gods, Odin & Thor.

Looking back & trying to nail-down exactly what the NZCO ‘believed in’ as a religious entity is hard to establish.

They had the same name as overseas branches they often referred to, the same racist rhetoric, but little to none of the codes followed by their name-sakes in Australia, U.S.A or Canada,

One of its selling points according to Crawford was actually its lack of mainstream religious restraints & hierarchies.

“We don’t want the control of men’s minds via religion” (Christchurch Star, 7th November 1981)

Over a decade after the N.Z Church ceased to exist, Kerry Bolton mentions Odinsim in an article he wrote on Dualism (full text of which is available here) in which he states;

“Even many (most?) of the harder-line "Odinists", have a cosmology that is essentially Christian. They have dualised the Aesir & the Jotuns into contending moral forces of "good vs. evil" - ODIN (OR BALDER) IS THEIR JESUS. LOKI IS THEIR SATAN. RAGNAROK IS THEIR ARMAGEDDON. The whole significance of Indo-European cyclic cosmology has been rendered null and void”

Try ‘picking the bones’ out of that!

The NZCO also adopted the structure of operating ‘separate cells’ from its parent New Force – so different cities developed different interpretations & practices.

"It became obvious that the Odinists were merely going to be a cult without any relevance to New Zealand politics” (abridged letter to the editor,K.R Bolton, Herald, 26/6/1983)

In this inauspicious letter to the N.Z Hearld Newspaper, Bolton publicly signalled his association with the NZCO was at an end – the equivalent of a death sentence given his heavy involvement.

At this time Boltons/Crawfords political aspirations under the banner New Force were over & the umbilical cord with it’s ‘marketing tool’ NZCO was similarly it appears, cut at the same time.
Bolton immediately branched off to form the more adventurous & mysterious sounding ‘Order of The Left Hand’ and its successor ‘The Black Order’.

The numbers involved with the NZCO (1980-83) is impossible to ascertain with any certainty, but probably best reflected by the number of votes the New Force’s sole candidate, and Party President, Mr B.W Zandbergen, attracted in the Western Hutt Electorate in the 1981 General Election.

Kerry Bolton’s frequent ‘metamorphosis of faith’ still continue, to this day.

Rumour has it, currently he’s now a Christian.

Now that’s scary!

Footnote: Time restraints caused by my involvement in the ‘real world’ and my need to put food on the families table, permitted me to merely scrape the surface on this fascinating subject, and the complexities of Kerry Bolton and the first of many Churches he’s been associated with. I suggest one day a more able journalist with a far broader scope than I have, will do far more justice to his intriguing life. There’s certainly enough material to script and produce a Sundance Movie. ‘The Order of The Left Hand’ seems a fitting title (more of which you can read about in ‘the unedited’ version of Roel van Leeuwen’s thesis) For what ever reason the ‘black & white images’ of Ed Wood, kept reoccurring in my research on this subject & those of you familiar with the movie by the same name, may see the similar parallels in this analogy as well. God Riddance to God from Schools

Mrs Button is your year-eight child’s teacher.

One day your child comes home and tells you a strange tale of an ‘E Meter’ she is using on the class to test their personalities.

This has you bemused and a little bit worried, so you do some detective work by asking around the other parents in the class if their children also report such ‘tests’.

The result is that all Mrs Button’s children have similar stories to report.

You decide to approach Mrs Button about these strange goings-on, you want no part of.

At the scheduled meeting in the classroom a picture of L.Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, hangs from the wall.

Rather than being reticent Mrs. Button goes on the attack claiming it is her heritage and right.

You are unsatisfied at her justification for indoctrinating your child with stories of alien war-lords, so you march off to the head-masters to complain.

The headmaster is sympathetic, but tells you there is nothing he can do.

He says he has been deluged by parent complaints similar to the one you are telling.

Mr Copland in Year 6 is a Mormon and filling his kids minds with tales of Joseph Smith.

Mrs Abdula gets her class to bow to Mecca.

The headmaster yearns for the day when all religious education is banned from the school.

So where is this going?

Yesterday, The European Court of Human Rights ruled against the use of crucifixes in classrooms in Italy.

They want secular education to be just that – religion free rather than ‘religion-lite’.

For those that are howling at this decision to remove Christian symbols from classes as some form of denial of traditional histrionics or the principals of Christian doctrine, I’m presuming are comfortable having children occupying a classroom with a picture of L.Ron Hubbard or Joseph Smith on the wall?

Or is it only when your own chosen superstitious clap-trap is removed from classes you feel some sort of betrayal?

Human Rights for Chimps!

About 6 million years ago, what we now call Chimpanzees, and what we call ‘human’ ancestors, diverged.

Chimps went their way and we went in our own direction.

The split led to various,obvious differences.

Chimps are covered in hair, humans much less so.

A chimp’s brain is about one-third the size of an average human brain and we walk on two legs, whilst chimps typically walk on all fours.

Despite these obvious differences in terms of Genomes, Humans & Chimps are 98.3% identical.

99.4% of the crucial stuff.

Chimpanzee’s like their closest relatives are capable of compassion and joy, aggression and sadness.

Chimpanzee’s, are capable of sophisticated cooperation, hunting, sharing food, using different objects as tools etc.

Chimpanzee’s, can educate other chimpanzee’s.

Female Chimpanzee’s, have been observed ‘selling’ sex for food.

Chimpanzee’s, copulate in different positions, for pleasure only rather than procreation.

Chimpanzee infants stay around their mothers till around 12 years old.

The list of what we arrogantly call ‘human traits’ goes on.

Yet the hairless human Chimps have arbitrarily decided the sanctity of life, only applies to them and not their primate brethren.

Have you ever wondered what gives ‘human’ chimps the automatic rights to torture and imprison other chimps, at a scale that puts the indulgences of Nazi Germany to shame?

A Bonobo chimp may share the same I.Q as a five year old human but none of their rights and entitlements.

It’s fine by humans to conduct cruel and painful experiments on Chimpanzee’s but not a fellow five year old homosapien.

If we are so abjectly inclined towards manifesting our intellectual superiority - why not strip naked a group with downs syndrome, toss them behind the bars at a zoo, so humans without chromosomal disorders can gawk & laugh at their behaviour?

Even the most ardent Christian or Muslim now accepts it not just God that makes the wind blow, a plant grow but evidently it is only God that can create this undetectable thing called ‘a soul’ and care and nurture them.

It is religious doctrine that has created and continues to perpetrate the chasm that separates the hairless chimps from the hairy ones.

Chimps may act like humans, share a great percentage of what we like to call human genomes – but they don’t have souls.

It is these things called souls that have lead humans to differentiate ourselves to a ‘God given’ position - that’s one that sanctifies barbaric cruelty against Chimpanzee’s.

Along with every other creature on the planet Chimpanzee’s are ‘souless’ beasts.

Nothing but mere ‘animals’.

So when did humans become human enough for God to warrant us being infused with these indefinable things souls?

Homohabilis perhaps?

Australopithecus may be?

Was it a Cro-Magnon toddler that first ran up to his mother and said “Hey look Mum I’ve now got a soul”?

But any critical thought along this tact would drag us from the hard facts of bio-chemistry, molecular biology etc and into the superstitious, scientifically-unfounded realm called theology.

Without the ability to sell your soul a one way ticket to eternal life the very foundations of religion would crumble.

Unfortunately for the hairy Chimpanzees that walk on all fours there are enough hairless bipedal chimps, stupid enough to believe in things called ‘a soul’.

Surely it’s about time we woke-up as a species and accepted - however reluctantly it must be for those who believe in books like The Bible - that we are all just intelligent bipedal chimpanzee’s!

Get over this chimp phobia!

Think for one moment what a Chimpanzee sees when he looks at a human?

By in large they see this narcissistic and cruel unit of rival chimps - best avoided.

When this realisation of where we fit into the earth’s species is adopted by enough of us – then may be we’ll begin treating not just Chimpanzee’s better, but other creatures as well.

And when we reach this level of human development, and get our true role imprinted inside our oversized craniums we might, just might, start treating our fellow bipedal chimps and the environment better as well.

Fat chance of this happening, whilst religion is still on the scene.

Religions Unheralded Role in New Zealand’s Suicide Statistics.

New Zealand has one of the worst levels of suicide in the world & youth suicide in this country is a major issue.

The reasons for suicide are complex and often linked to mental health problems - depression being the number one precursor.

SPINZ (Suicide Prevention Information NZ) is the national body charged with reducing suicide in this country by providing the public with preventative strategies such as improving self-esteem.

Some of these ‘red lights’ family members and friends should look for include:

- Feeling down all the time
- Say that life isn’t worth living
- Get into death image and music
- Use alcohol in excess or drugs
- Acting ‘out of it’, dangerous or violent
- Out of character risk-taking
- Changes in personality

Despite the comprehensiveness of sites like SPINZ there was a disturbing oversight in their advice.

They all failed to deal with one of the lesser-known causes of suicide.

The ugly ‘throw-back’ child that is spoken about in hushed tones even in professional circles, as if it didn’t exist.

We are not talking about the easy cubby-holes of death metal and Marilyn Manson – its belief in the after life & the false hope entities, homo-erectus chimps have named, Gods offer to those seeking help.

International Suicide research shows there is a major ‘at risk’ group that feels they are disenfranchised from their families, peers and society as a whole. This is why homosexuals are over represented in suicide statistics.

Those that fail to integrate into the mainstream are therefore vulnerable, so are those that have suffered a relationship breakdown.

So back to the whispered role religion plays in suicide – the taboo subject within the taboo subject.

Religious apologists argue that ‘good’ comes from religious adherence and individuals are instilled a belief they are loved unconditionally, are part of a community and have a greater purpose.

Theist beliefs and those ‘at risk’ therefore have to be dealt with as a whole.

The success stories of those turned around at the edge of the cliff by a new found belief in God are touted publicly - but what about the failures?

When religion fails to treat the symptoms or makes them worse we hear nothing?

Surely it is the role of the state (via SPINZ etc) to monitor bogus treatments in this contentious and convoluted area of human-psychiatry and highlight the possible dangers of indoctrinating often mentally-ill individuals with tales of invisible beings and Lord of The Rings type stories with unicorns and seven-headed dragons?

Offering someone hope is fine – but what if that hope is a false one?

Placing a meme in someone mind that “Jesus loves you” if no one else does is meaningless in itself when your own crap-life continues spiraling out of control and you still see no way out of your hole.

What happens if the only person who supposedly loves you unconditionally also lets you down when you seek their help?

What happens if you are Gay and you get told you are inherently evil and need ‘rescuing’?

Hold-on, if you listen hard to what your new found buddies are telling-you there is a way out from the dark-times!

A place which by definition of the word is: paradise.

It’s called ‘heaven’.

How does one get to this place?

Well the quickest way to get to heaven is not to give your life to Christ and wait for old-age – simply kill your-self.

You can be re-united with love ones, live an infinite ethereal existence without the pain.

Rub shoulders with Mother Teresa, Martin Luther, a whole bunch of virginal Popes and if you so desire it Peter Pan & the interesting half The Beatles as well.

Instead of dealing with the ‘issues’ of those with suicidal tendencies in certain individuals religion offers not just offers false-hope but a way-out – the imaginary ‘after-life’.

For those that doubt the power of religious indoctrination & suicide I have a one word answer: Martyrdom.
