Claims of Pedophilia in a Roman Collar continue to grow

The number of new claims of sexual abuse made against U.S Roman Catholic priests rose by 16% to more than 800 last year, a Church report (published on the BBC) says.

In 2008 alone The Catholic Church (U.S Inc) paid compensation to abuse victims totaling 820 Million New Zealand Dollars.

That’s right, getting close to a billion dollars.

Commenting on the abuse pay-outs Cardinal Francis George of Chicago said the Church was "on the right path in its quest to better protect all children in society".

Cardinal George was no doubt able to take some positives from the figures.

Although the number of abuse compensation cases inexorably continues to climb, the amount paid by the church per victim exponentially continues to fall.

And let’s face it what’s a few billion dollars to a organisation like The Catholic Church?

That’s less than a dollar per adherent to them, another shake of the begging bowl come Sunday.

Who cares about the victims who continue to come forward in increasing numbers number, eh Cardinal George?

They & their families can be a bought off, anyway.

You and your cronies around the world, know well enough no Governmental authority is brave enough to deal with the issue of mass pedophilia in a Roman collar, so it’s business as usual.

Cheque-book diplomacy, and the right people in the right places - rules!

Another of those positives from the 2008 figures, Cardinal George can take, is despite the downturn in the world economy, there’s been an upturn in sexual abuse cases for him to deal with.

Unlike other areas of the U.S Economy, business is booming for him and his team.
