Have you ever thought what would it take for you to kill someone else?
I’m not talking the popular scenario here, either – a situation where you kill in self defence.
I’m referring to the brutal, senseless murder of innocents in the name of some cause - because someone convinced you the victims were unworthy of existence and it was ‘just’ to do so.

What sort of headspace would you need to be in to say kill a child or a pregnant woman by forcing their head under water?
Could you be talked into murdering people who were not harming you by putting them into a chamber and gassing them?
Millions in World War Two were persuaded to undertake cruelty beyond comprehension, all for a cause the perpetrators believed passionately was ‘just’?
What is your opinion of the people through-out history who have orchestrated mass-murder?
Have you every heard Hitler described as “loving”?
Who then is history’s biggest mass-murderer?
Ask most people and they are going to suggest Hitler (and his accomplices)
But I’m afraid Hitler was a light-weight, at least for those who believe in the Christian Bible.
In one foul swoop The God of the Old Testament mercilessly drowned more people than all histories evil megalomaniacs put together.
Christians, who preach the sanctity of the unborn, believe it was ‘just’ for their God to drown millions of pregnant woman and their unborn.
Christians, who tell us about his love, believe it was ‘just’ for their God to kill millions of toddlers - too young to know what is right and what is wrong.
Christians, who talk of tolerance, believe it was ‘just’ for God to commit mass murder on those who did not share his beliefs or teachings.
Is it fair to say smiling Christians therefore share the same traits as the smiling guards at Auschwitz?

The picture of the happy smiling animals aboard the ark is amusing in that it betrays the gross violence of the actual story.
Christians believe sin is a terrible thing. We also believe God chooses to punish it as He knows best. No-one ever claims the Bible isn't violent.
To copy my previous reply over at StarStuddedSuperStep for your readers here:
"You assume people are born innocent and become sinful later, as many happy-clappy people like to do. Christianity actually teaches that ALL have sinned - which includes both the unborn and the elderly. So God punishing the unborn is as just as him punishing an adult. At the same time, a human killing the unborn is as unjust as a human killing an adult. There is no difference in the rights of a human with age."
So myself and other non-believers can get our heads around what you are saying here Sam - what sort of sins could a fetus or 6 month old baby perform, that would be deserving (in Gods eyes) of death? Ta. Paul
